CONSIGNING ITEMS
We will provide a receipt when you leave any item(s) with us. This forms your contract with Stride & Son and will provide you with a unique reference number which should be quoted in any future communication. Anti-Money Laundering regulations will sometimes require us to take additional proof of identification.
TYPES OF RESERVE
- Fixed: The auctioneer will recommend a reserve to ensure the lot(s) will not be sold for less than the agreed amount.
- Auctioneer's Discretion: The lot(s) will be sold at a price which is at the discretion of the auctioneer. This means you are giving permission for your goods to be sold at up to 10% less than the agreed reserve.
- No Reserve: The lot(s) will be sold for the highest bid received on the day. Reserves below £50 will not be accepted.
BEFORE THE AUCTION
A 'Pre-Sale Notification' will be sent to you one week prior to the auction. This will confirm: your personal details; the lot number(s); the description(s); the estimate(s) and reserve instruction(s).
AFTER THE AUCTION
A 'Post Sale Notification', detailing hammer prices achieved, will be sent to you within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Payment to you will be processed by BACS transfer 21 days following the auction (providing we have received full payment from the buyer for that lot). You will also receive a settlement statement detailing the charges.
UNSOLD LOTS
If any lot(s) remain(s) unsold the auctioneer will recommend that either the lot is re-offered with an amended estimate and/or reserve, or alternatively we may request you to collect the unsold item(s).
