An antique Japanese katana and lacquered scabbard, the tang signed, with copper tsuba, 70cm blade.
Rusting and pitting to blade, some of which is quite deep, nicks to edge of blade and tip of blade, tang rusted but signature visible,The Tsuka (handle) binding is missing and has been replaced with a leather strip binding. the saya (scabbard) split and with loss of lacquer. The Habaki is split, the original. Rust and corrosion to blade quite deep. Cutting edge is 70cm
