GEORGIAN PATTERN BOOK: pattern book of one Dora Wentworth, so inscribed to front free endpaper: paper watermarked 1829, with c.160 pen and ink pattern drawings plus a few pieces loosely inserted: chiefly patterns for embroidery or whitework, some with notes relating to colours or threads to be utilized: contained in commonplace book of period, green half morocco over marbled boards, a little rubbed, square 8vo.
Dorothy (Dora) Harriet Wentworth (d.1889), daughter of Godfrey and Amelia Wentworth of Wooley Hall, near Wakefield: married Samuel Hancock (knighted 1841) in 1831 and lived at Brilwete House, Oxfordshire. (1)
