An Edwardian silver Corinthian column oil lamp, by Mappin and Webb, Sheffield 1906, height to top of oil reservoir 52.5cm.
In a generally very good condition.
Stands straight and flat.
Font is not cracked or repaired, v minor chipping to glass.
Engraved family crest to base rim.
Not engraved with any inscription.
One small wear through hole to a corner of the stepped base.
No wicks present to test it but the mechanism turns freely and there is no reason to doubt that it works as it should.
The burner mechanism is not hallmarked and it is assumed that it is silver plated.
The shade and the chimney are later replacements and not contemporary.
