An rare early 18th century verge pocket watch movement, signed 'Thomas Tompion & Edward Banger, London' and numbered 3978, in later Gothic brass architectural case, 12.8cm high.
This item is being sold on behalf of The Salvation Army.
Edward Banger (c.1668-1720) was apprenticed to Thomas Tompion in 1687 and became free of the Clockmakers Company in 1695. Tompion and Banger worked together from around 1701 until 1708 when the partnership was abruptly terminated.

The silvered dial is approximately 41mm in diameter.
It appears one hand is a replacement.
